Now we'll take a moment to briefly
describe the process we call the exterior grade beam
pressed-piling pier system.
- Mark location of holes
- Lay out plywood to place dirt and sod
- Use hydraulic power unit to press
pre-cast cement cylinders into ground until jacked refusal has
been met (solid strata).
- Place cap block on
top of piling cylinders that have been driven to solid strata.
- Remove all old and deteriorating
caulking from exterior doors and windows.
- Using the top of the cap block,
place a hydraulic jack
- Using a pre-determined sectional
approach, raise areas of structure in small increments until
structure's natural position has been attained.
- Secure a concrete cylinder next
to the hydraulic jack and shim with steel shims.
- Remove hydraulic jacks, then size
and place another pre-cast cement cylinder beside the cylinder
placed in Step 8, using steel shims to secure cylinders in place.
- Place soil in top hole
surrounding piling cap. Use a mounding approach to allow for soil
subsidence. Remove excess soil from site.
- Discard plywood and rake areas
free of debris. Wash all concrete surface and pour
new concrete as needed.
